Happy studio day!
On Mondays and Fridays, I stay in and have a slow start. Coffee, light breakfast (maybe), play time with my poodle pups, and then into the studio with me!
Hopefully I’ll have a spot for the pups to keep me company in here once the room is all mine. Right now I’m waiting for soon to be ex roommates to finish moving. Once they get all of their things out, what used to be a storage room will be all mine. My first 100% dedicated art studio (complete with bed for the studio puppies). I’m sooo excited!
Today, I’m working on a pin-up logo, some stuff for Star Wars in May, and deciding which pieces of art to hang in a show next week. I was invited to include my work in a Third Friday art show at Fairbanks Montessori School, alongside their student’s work.
A chance to hang my work with early pieces of Fairbanks’ future artists? How can I say no!
So, Friday, February 16th. It’s like a late Valentines’ party, celebrating the love of art. I’m in, and I hope you are too-- let’s show the kiddos that art is important, and inspire them to keep creating! I know that the school shows I did as a kid helped me take my work seriously.
Whichever pieces we settle on for the show, they’re going to be brand new-- so come see some work before I flash it around Instagram! I’m donating 50% of sales from this event to the school, to support their programs.
I look forward to seeing you at the reception! Now, I don’t have nearly enough paint on my hands, so to work with me! Hopefully I can keep the paint out of my coffee…
Have a fabulous, creative day!
